Every class is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned Nia dancers, as your goal is to connect with your own Body’s Way, and getting the moves “right” is not important. Rather, the priority is safety through connecting to your own sensations of pleasure and pain, and moving to heal. The class begins with the teacher setting a focus and intention for the class (which could for example be a focus on a particular part of the body, or on the breath). The class continues with a mindful stepping in, a warm-up followed by a high energy movement cycle. We then cool down and end with energizing, relaxing movement on the floor, to leave you stepping out into your day feeling truly alive.
