WHAT IS HEALTH & WELLNESS COACHING?

There is a lot of misconception around what a Functional Health and Wellness Coach does. The coaching that I have been trained to do as an ADAPT Functional Health Coach is centred on Positive Psychology, Strengths based coaching, and Motivational Interviewing.

We all want health. We all want healthy relationships, healthy bodies, healthy lifestyles and boundless energy.  Many of us know exactly what that should look and feel like, but it’s very challenging to know how to get there, and to change habits. When I coach, I use deep listening, as well as powerful questions and reflections, to help my clients think through what’s really important to them, and why it matters. I have a wealth of health resources to share when it’s needed. I’m a change agent. I’m there to facilitate a process of insight and understanding around what’s working for you in your life and your health and what isn’t (you are the expert in your life!)

I will help you uncover your deepest motivations, your values and your strengths. I’m there to help you envision your optimal state of wellbeing, to support you in drawing up long-term goals, and to plan with you how to get there, one small step at a time.  In this collaborative process, I help my clients sustain momentum and motivation. I partner with you in learning from your setbacks and celebrating your successes.

Real change begins with knowing where you want to go and why it’s important. Incremental change, week by week, or month by month becomes real and significant change over time as you gain confidence, knowledge and insight. I’d love to partner with you on your journey to wellbeing.

I offer powerful questioning, deep listening, tools and resources to support you in your journey towards wellness.

Formulate your long-term goals. This may be improving your eating habits, or hiking a mountain with ease. You may want to transition into healthy retirement, sleep better, reduce stress or lose weight.

Uncover and strengthen your deepest motivations.

Move from thinking about doing something for your health and wellness to actually taking action.

Get closer and closer to those long-term goals. Until you’re there! You’ll tackle incremental changes week by week.

Remain accountable in the goals you set for yourself.

Learn from setbacks and failures, (we all have them!) and how to navigate obstacles along the way.

Raise your awareness of who you are, what you want for yourself and how to get there.

HOW HEALTH COACHING WORKS

Many of us know a lot about health. We read about the best ways to lose weight, to reduce stress levels, to gain fitness and strength. We often know what to do, but doing it is hard! As a Health Coach I am a change agent.

I will partner with you to help you figure out your deepest motivations and values, your optimal wellness vision for yourself, and together we will set up a weekly plan to help you get there, one small step at a time.  We will look at overcoming barriers to change, and set up ways of being accountable.
